I ish the power!

Posted by Jules on March 30, 2009

Yesh, I ish the power! Muahaha… I ish the power cuz I ish the crazee cuz I fear no pain! XD

BEHOLD~!!! My new unnecessary source of pain on my unattractive torso:

It fucking hurt like a bloody bitch! aka Sakit giler babi sial! aka Hou kao lan tung ah! This hurt so much more than the tattoo, omg…

Ok, so I’ve been wanting it for years now, but didn’t really get around to get the guts to actually get it. Until now. Initially I intended to get it maybe this weekend or something. But today I went to Sungei Wang after work to get my phone LCD screen fixed, so while waiting I had nothing to do, so I thought… Oh what the heck, bring it on! So I got it done at Zoo parlor. I walked through the door, and I came out like 10 or 15 minutes later with a brand new piercing, wazzuhhh!

In case you’re wondering how come it’s one of those rings instead of the curved jewelry… The piercer said that this is the better beginner’s jewelry cause it give more flexibility and does not give pressure to the fresh piercing. Looks like I’m stuck with this ugly thing for at least 4 months lol.

Oh yeah… I’m back on avoiding seafood… lol.

Way to go, Iks!

Posted by Jules on March 29, 2009

Yesterday was Ika’s first reading at some writers’ gathering thingie whatchamacallit. Ok so I don’t really know what you call it, cause I was a little out of place :P It was held at Seksan Gallery in Bangsar. So intimidating… Everyone’s like a writer there and they speak excellent english. I had to remember to scrap off my manglish for a couple hours :P

Anyway, it must’ve been nerve-wrecking for her. But she did great! Despite being her first time, but she was awesome :D Jo and I are sooo proud of our Ikseh ^^ Btw, she was reading a part of her short story published in Ages of Wonder, which is available only on Amazon.com at the moment. We’ll see if they could manage to get it sold in local bookstores here. So exciting! XD

Eyelids progress: Update

Posted by Jules on March 27, 2009

*Sings* I feel pretty… Oh so pretty… I feel pretty and witty and gaaaaaay~ XD

At week 4… This is what I look like right now. I posted the before photo too for comparison:

ZOMFG, my eyes are HUGE!!! I swear I’m not deliberately opening them up to make them look big, this is the normal pose! Anyway, both eyes seem to look a little more balanced now, yay ^^ But the swelling’s not completely down yet, I still have another follow up check with the doctor in about 10 days time.

What an exciting week…

Posted by Jules on March 26, 2009

In reference to the previous post before this one… I hate flowers cause I don’t understand what they’re all about. A rose, so pretty with its soft petals and sweet smell, but its stem is covered with thorns that could prick. What the hell is up with that? Such a pretty bloom, drawing admirers to touch them, only to hurt them in the end. And they call this “defense”.

Ironically, this was my horoscope for today:

“Overall, this could be a sad day. Be cautious with a major expenditure or you may have a problem with not enough funds later. If you are in a new love relationship, it probably will not turn out well. In a current one, it could be faltering. If worth keeping, you might need to sit tight for a more favorable day.”
—astrology.com

“Sad day”, huh? Tell me about it lol… Sigh. Uncanny enough, Connie posted this on her notes, and I quote:

There are four things that u cannot recover:
. The stone.. after the throw…
. The word.. after it’s said…
. The occasion.. after the loss…
. The time.. after it’s gone…

Applies so perfectly for me right now. And I only have myself to blame for falling into its trap.

C’est la vie

Posted by Jules on March 24, 2009

I guess that’s just how life is. You take a casual stroll in the park minding your own business, and you see a beautiful flower. You pluck it, admiring its beauty and lovely scent, and it makes you feel happy. The next thing you know, the beautiful flower in your bare hands just wilts and dies. And it makes you feel sad because the beauty and scent and everything that goes with it, is gone just like that.

Que sera sera… C’est la vie, c’est la vie, c’est la vie…

Wonders of the stars

Posted by Jules on March 20, 2009

Had an astrology talk with dad over dinner today. How interesting. Apparently he consulted an expert about his children’s careers some years ago, and the predictions has all come true. My sister will be in finance or economics, which is true cause despite trying to switch to fashion, she’s now working in a bank. I will be either in beauty/fashion line and I have the choice whether to stay locally or move overseas, which is true too. My brother will be in engineering and he will go overseas when he is 20, which is also true cause he turns 20 this year and he just left to Melbourne!

So apparently my life is based on the planet Venus? And my dad says that I must not wear yellow gold and I have to wear diamonds only lol. That’s ok, I hate yellow gold anyway, damn old! And diamonds are a girl’s best friend *sings* :P

Hmm what else did he say… This is the time that I gain experience and my career will skyrocket when I hit age 30. Cool :P But the most interesting part of the conversation was about my future life partner lol. So apparently, according to the STARS, he will be someone not of the same race. Lol if this is true, then it seems like my future partner will not be a true blue chinese guy :P This probably explains my history of falling in love with guys with indian blood XD So funny! Oh another thing. I will get married at a later age, like 30 or something. Oh well… I’m not pressured anyway haha.

Eyelids progress: Update

Posted by Jules on March 17, 2009

It’s been almost 2 weeks and I’m recovering nicely hehe. At least I can go out in public now and look normal, at least :P Piccies time!

Normal snapshot first… Before and now, in day 12. Omg I can’t believe how different I look!

And now, posed smiles hehe. Can you actually believe that it’s the same person???

Geez I didn’t realise how fat I was when I was 17… lol~!

Oh yeah… I used to look like my dad when I was much younger, then I started looking like both of my parents in between the teenage and adult age… And now, since I got my eyelids done, everyone says I look completely like my mama lol! Talk about change :P

Edit: I can’t stop staring at the before and after photos… Such a big difference, what an enhancement! I mean, it’s such an indescribable feeling. Like, wow… I’m so excited to see how it looks like next week when the swelling has gone down and I can get back on contact lenses. Then I can see myself better lol. Hmm, I’m thinking pretty soon, I’ll even forget how I used to look like… Oooh I can’t wait to experiment with makeup! But I think I would have to learn how to apply eye makeup all over again haha. Nvm, it’ll be awesomely fun XD

Appreciating nature

Posted by Jules on March 17, 2009

I was on the way home today, just around the corner to my house. Then I noticed the lovely hues of the evening sky. That’s when I realised that it’s been a while since I’ve taken photos of the sky. So I gostan a bit, parked by the curbside and snapped my first sky shot in several months…

Lamp posts kacau, but still… Beautiful, isn’t it?

Awesome weekend!

Posted by Jules on March 16, 2009

Sunday yesterday was awesome!!! Spent all day at Sunway Pyramid and it was fun fun fun! Despite being in the blur stoned mood with a mild headache :P But I totally ignored it and enjoyed the day.

Firstly, met up with Ryan for a lunch. It was a nice date, I enjoyed chitchatting with him. We had yummy cheese-baked rice at Kim Gary. I’m happy cause I’ve been craving for it for a while now, and I finally got it, wheee~! Then we just walked around chitchatting some more. He bought a little metal puzzle thingie for us to play with and he randomly made a game out of it. Long story short, I owe him dinner for this weekend, and he owes me dinner for next lol. We hung out some more while waiting for my girls to arrive.

Ryan goes off and I enjoy a lovely time at Starbucks with my best ladies, Jo and Ika! Believe it or not, it was our first Starbucks outing together, as in the 3 of us! Iks started her practice for her upcoming reading, and we brainstormed on how she could improve it, that was fun. Then the discussion moved on to sharing stories and opinions about the Secret. Lagi fun XD it got too hot sitting outdoors, so we made a move and just walked around the mall. Went to petshop and bought a new tank for Ares! The exact same tank as Zeus hehe. Pitstop at A&W for a root beer, and we kept ourselves occupied with the metal puzzle thingie with Jocey making up some “rules” that was supposed to make it seem easier lol. Then poor Iks got hungry so we moved on to Gasoline for dinner.

After dinner, we passed by a photo printing machine. So we  took a group photo right there and then with Jo’s camera, and printed it out immediately. It’s our new treasure that we each keep in our purses ^^ Initially wanted icecream, but we quickly lost the craving haha. Went to Sasa for a while and bought some girly stuff. Was about to send Ika to her car, when we passed by SushiGroove. They were having a half-price salmon promotion thing. Jo was like on-the-fence, Ika no opinion, and I was itching for the cheap salmon. So ok! First time having sashimi supper haha. The 3 of us just shared 2 plates of thick sweet fresh sashimi, and hot occha, and left for home XD Heck, even THAT was fun!

Such a wonderful day with the girls. We all needed it too. Weekdays so stressed with work, this was great to unwind… With a girls’ weekend outing. I lub you chicas! Let’s do this again soon!
