My CNY so far

Posted by Jules on January 29, 2009

First day nothing much going on, just visited my grandparents (dad’s side) as usual. My dad gave us an early curfew just cause it was the first day of CNY lol. So.. bleh.

2nd day. After a big lunch at home, we went to my 2nd aunt’s (mom’s side) house. Collected more angpaus, watched TV, SMSed out of boredom… Then more cousins arrived! Wow, my younger female cousins all grown up and we were chatting about things like makeup, hair, tattoos, clubbing lol. That kept me entertained a bit XD Then Ron picked me up and we went to boss’s place (more angpau!), with a cake cause it was Alfred’s birthday yesterday. After finishing the cake, we went for 2nd round at some nightspot in Sg Long. Drinks, karaoke, little bit of dancing. It was ok, I guess. Tho I was fucking cold cause we were the only people there! But I had Choong to hug me for some warmth haha.

3rd day, today. Went to Sunway Pyramid to have lunch with new friends. Jeff, whom I met online, and his friends. After that, we watched ‘All’s well, Ends well’, the CNY2009 hongkie comedy. Pointless storyline, but the humour is hilarious XD Then we went jalan-jalan a bit and Jeff bought a blingbling handphone chain with a capital ’J’. Then we all window shopped before going to Old Town White Coffee for a drink. That’s when I remembered about my camera lol.

The gals: Stella, Cellese (sp?), me.

The guys: Jeff, Ivan, Derek/Derrick (?)

Then I had to go home cause my relatives were visiting, and mom wants me to be home even for a while for them to see (swt?). I guess it was a good day spent out, instead of rotting at home. Good end to it too. When Jeff walked me to my car, he gave me a small gift. It was the ‘J’ handphone chain which I thought he got for himself! Sweet lol. Been a while since I had something cute danggling from my phone.

I’m glad he invited me out. Or else I’d be rotting at home in total boredom all day!

Goodbye…

Posted by Jules on January 27, 2009

It’s over… I’m not sure if I wanna talk about it yet. Let’s just say… I’ve grown up over these few years and my directions towards what I want in life had changed.

The perfect song, I dedicate to you, Calvin Poobalan. I am sorry.

Goodbye…

Happy ‘Niu’ Year! (‘niu’ is mandarin for ox)… What’s in store for me and other fellow Rats this year?? Taken from astrology.com :

~~~
Rat Overview
The Rat may likely begin the year with a lot of momentum from the year of the Rat. Take an inventory for the next twelve months. Then, with some plans in mind, no matter what area of life, work purposefully towards obtaining those objectives. One pitfall to avoid in the year of the Ox is over-committing to engaging in too many activities at the same time. Self-discipline, careful planning, and applied effort are three wise methods that will lead to a successful year in 2009. For the persistent and conscientious Rat, the rewards of the year can prove substantial.
Rat Rating
56% (5 favorable, 5 neutral and 2 unfavorable months)
Rat Career
The Rat can make particularly good progress, as there will be positive repercussions from the previous year (namesake year). The winds of change may not be felt immediately, so it is important for the Rat to be assertive and follow any leads towards openings or opportunities that may reveal themselves. Promote any new ideas that are innovative or will enhance progress, as they will be received favorably. Dissatisfaction in the workplace may be a sign for a career change, as the best times to seek this are in September and October.
Rat Relationships
The closing stages of the Rat year will be a favorable time for the Rat both socially and domestically. Parties and functions may bring new acquaintances. If any problems or uncertainties that should arise in your relationship, do not hesitate to seek the advice of others. You have many acquaintances and close friends that are willing to assist you on your path. Romance is favored later in the year, around November and December. This is a good time to plan a wedding or make a proposal.
Rat Health
It may be a good idea for the Rat to integrate a regimen of physical activity, as this may have been neglected in the recent past. Even if it is a minor activity, such as walking it will be beneficial. Areas of interest may be cycling or swimming. Failure to do so may reveal certain health issues later in the year that could hinder your activities for a long time.
Rat Wealth
Financially, the beginning of the year may be a favorable time to invest, but it is a good idea to remain conservative in speculations. If you lose discipline during the mid-months, you may deplete your savings on a whim. Be sure to set aside a certain amount for emergency situations or the holidays. You may surprise yourself at how well you are able to accumulate a large amount.
~~~
All I can say is… “MEH”. It’s slightly contradicting to what I’m expecting the year to be! So, I dunno lol.

This year’s CNY (indoor) decors. Only 3 malls, cause I haven’t had the chance to drop by 1utama and Sunway Pyramid.

KLCC: A giant lantern and 2 giant scrolls (a bit pathetic-looking).

Pavillion: Cherry blossom trees all over the place!

Gardens @Midvalley: Hanging cherry blossom trees with lanterns. My personal fave!

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!

My busiest week

Posted by Jules on January 25, 2009

Boy, what a week! Let me try to be as brief as possible lol.

Monday and Tuesday, had some work to do before the CNY break, so I left office at 10pm. There goes all of my time, working for 12 hours a day @_@

On Wednesday, I left on time but not for home. There was a small private Xixili gathering at Gardens, MV. I got to see everyone from my former department =D including MinLee who is back from China for CNY. I’m glad that I decided to go in the end. It was nice to see everyone again after half a year ^^

From 6 of us, soon there will be only 3 left… Excluding the new girl whom I dunno lol. Ah well.

On Thursday, hardly worked at all lol. Just a meeting in the morning, then Ron and I took boss’s wife and kids to lunch and window shopping at Pavillion. Showed them Hongkies the CNY decor there, and boss’s daughter was having an eyeful at the big golden ox on display outside the main entrance.

Adorable little Queenie going “wahhh….”.

Then back to office and prepared for pasar malam! No, not to go buy things, but to SELL. Haha, yup, we had too many old samples in the office that’s no use for us anymore. So it was decided to clear them by selling for very cheap flat price. The response was overwhelming, waaay better than any of us expected. Quite the experience to be hollering “Baju branded! Murah! Murah! Sepuluh ringgit sahaja! Mari mari!!”. (Branded clothes! Cheap! Cheap! Ten ringgit only! Come come!) Hilarious XD

Then boss split the total of over RM2k from the 2-hour plus sales among all of us who minded the ’stall’. Easiest cash I ever made, RM250 in my pocket yo =DDD then me, Ron and Choong went for a good dinner of cheese-baked rice and a bucket of beer. Sweeeet ^^ I wish I had a photo of our ‘business’. But I was too occupied with serving the customers that I couldn’t run upstairs to snap a pic! Shoot >.<

Then there’s Friday. Early in the morning, we all met up near the office then we’re off to a customer’s place for their annual lion dance thingie to usher in the new lunar year. A bit boring actually… I’m just impressed that they did everything themselves instead of hiring a troupe. The company staff took turns to be the lion’s head, lion’s tail, drummer, cymbals, etc… Boss said we have to wear red to the event, like HAVE to, as in MUST. So I was thinking, for real??? And no shit, everyone’s like wearing RED on that day. Talk about gongxi gongxi spirit eh.

See Alfred there with the cymbals? XD

After everything ended, we headed home for a shower before JS’s ’sau gong zau’, as in the company dinner on the last day of work before CNY. I managed to catch a 25-min nap :P The dinner was at MidValley’s Tai Thong Restaurant. It was really nice, I love yee sang! My first one this year lol. Yummy~ After dinner ended, we went for karaoke session at Gardens’ Redbox. I had fun. Singing, playing drinking game (cai mui), laughing… We managed to belt out “when you believe” by Whitney&Mariah, it was crazy hollering XD

Me and my 2 lovelies…

…and everyone else (Alfred’s having a good time lol).

And that’s my week! Doncha just feel tired for me? Lol. Saturday, that’s today. Slept in til after noon to catch up on lost sleep during the week. Cooked lunch, spring cleaned, washed my car… CNY eve tomorrow! Time sure flies…

Facial?!

Posted by Jules on January 14, 2009

Last weekend I had my first facial appointment at an actual beauty salon lol. YES, my skin is not as perfect as you all perceive! The stress these couple of months must be what made my skin spotty and dry. I was thinking, omg I need help! So a friend recommended a beautician and we went together, was even laid next to each other so that we could chit chat lol. The whole session took over 2 hours and I was loving the super smoothness of my face! What I liked the most is that they shaped my eyebrows too. I’ve always wanted to shape them but was afraid of making an ugly mistake :P They’re finally nicely shaped now, all I gotta do is maintain them with my daily plucking routine haha.

Btw, the beautician is in Ampang. And guess who recommended and went through a facial session with me? It was my colleague, dear Ron! Haha yes, a vain guy, doncha just love it? A metrosexual in denial XD

Photo post!

Posted by Jules on January 12, 2009

Finally got enough mood to edit and upload some photos :P

These are from new year’s eve at… Uh… Gosh, I forgot the name of the place ^^;; It’s a pool bistro and pub thingie in Sunway Mentari. Had some beer, and played pool. Didn’t feel like playing pool that night cause I was in the party mood lol.

Whistle-light that Cheryl tied to my ponytail.

Taken with slow shutter indoor mode! Talk about space cowboy lol. Yeehaw~

Ushering in the 3rd new year with my sweetheart :)

OK, now for another set of photos. Was out clubbing last Saturday at Coco Banana. Cause Clinston has been asking me out for so long, so now I finally promised lol. Music was ok, not really that great. I won a U-mobile simcard from the DJ for… doing… something ^^;;; Ask me privately if you wanna know, probably not a good idea to reveal it in my blog lol. Anyway, photo time!

Nice… A club’s into the CNY mood too, I see XD

Baby came too! ^^

Clinston and I, pet siblings! He really could pass as my brother, huh? XD

Kokorians! I look weird here, but never mind…

Hellu…

Posted by Jules on January 9, 2009

Been missing for a while, haven’t I? :P Sorry, dearies, I have been THAT occupied lol. And having the internet at home down for the past 2 days doesn’t help.

So I wanted to finally upload new songs into my mp3 player, but encountered some error. It didn’t allow me to upload anything cause “the file doesn’t exist” or something. So strange! Did everything I could but still the same problem. Even discovered that uploading into the internal memory is fine, the error only occurs when I upload to the SD card. No choice but to try re-formatting the card. Then I could upload again, yay! But I could only upload about a hundred songs before the error popped up again >.< nyuuu!!! “100 songs enough la”, you say? No way! Those 100 songs were only selected files under the alphabets A and B! ONLY! I’ve got like 24 more alphabets to go! You do the math XD *grumbles* I need to get a new SD card… A bigger capacity one? Kekeke…

I feel like dancing. I don’t really feel like drinking much, but I wanna dance. Shake off my stress. Whether to boogie, groove, bounce, shake it, get low, sway, or gettin’ down on it… I want to move it move it! So I’m glad I promised Clinston to join him and others for Coco Banana tomorrow. I dunno how the place and music are, cause I haven’t been there before. But never mind… Dancing time!

*Got photos to show but lazy to edit and upload* :P :P :P

You know the problem with having pet fishies? It’s not so easy to tell if they’re sick. Plus they’re so small, how can I tell if something is wrong with my lovelies? Sometimes they act weird, but how do I know if it’s normal or not? Cause you know why…? Goliath fins got whitish tips on them and as aggresive as ever, and Zeus either floats motionless or darts around furiously. Something to worry about? Or not? Vets don’t check fishes, so I need to know how to observe on my own so that I know to treat them when neccessary. Anyone? A little help?

Mini~!

Posted by Jules on January 3, 2009

I SO want a Mini Cooper. Initially my dream car was a Mini Cooper S, just like the one my sister drives. Then modify it a bit. Something like this:

But since I went to the Xtreme Autoshow last weekend and checked out the collection of classic Minis, I totally changed my mind and want a classic Mini (completely restored, of course), instead of the new Mini model. Something like this:

I know you’re asking… Why the hell would I want an “old car”?? Come on, I’m all about being uniquely different, right? XD You always see a girl drive a brand new 2007 Mini Cooper S. But how often do you see a girl driving a classic 1985 Austin Cooper? Ok, maybe 1985 model is too old. 1997 Mini then :P Ah, whatever la, even 1965 is good as long as it’s still up and running XD

Nice tho, wouldn’t it be? I’d fully restore the engine and refurbish the whole car. 2 toned colour on its shell with stripes down the center. Chromed sports rims. Leather seats and steering wheel. Cute bling for its gear knob. Bweee *huggles dream car*

I wonder if I’m ever gonna realise this dream? I guess it’s quite possible, but will I be able to have it… Oh, by the time I turn 30?
