This and that and whatever

Posted by Jules on March 6, 2010

First things first… I’ve got a job interview coming up in a couple of days, and I’m reading up the definition of CRM (customer relationships management). Is the time late and I’m too tired, or what? Cause I can’t seem to keep my focus to study to subject! My mind kept wandering off into nothingness, sigh. I’ll try again tomorrow! I must >.< In any case, wish me luck for the interview!

On Wednesday, I had dinner with my pet big bro, Charles. It was sort of a farewell thingie. He’s departing for Singapore this weekend to be a “househusband” or “stay-at-home-dad”. It’s a funny thing, with this pet brother of mine. We met at a seminar 2 years ago, kept in touch and eventually became pet siblings. We’ve only met up twice after the seminar. Yup, we really don’t meet up often at all, but we try to keep in touch and catch up with things every now and then with the means of blogging, text messaging and MSN. It’s strange how someone that you don’t see often at all, can be so dear to you. Especially on my side, for the fact that I don’t have a real elder brother. He really is like a big brother to me, one who supports me and cares about me. I feel a little sad that he’s moving away. I know, we don’t meet often anyway, right? But somehow it feels different to have him so far away when he’s always been very nearby. I think I’m gonna miss him very much…

We had a good time over dinner the other day, talking and laughing over stuff. I wanted to take a photo of us, since we don’t have any together. But he refused out of vanity and promised to snap it the next time, whenever that is! Funny how men can be so strangely vain haha XD So, no photo (yet), sorry. Can’t show off my handsome gor gor :P

Fiona messaged some of us to perform for a paid show of some sort. Pirate theme, it seems, or something like that. Hey, a paid performance sounds good! But I don’t know, it doesn’t seem to be a good time :/ As it is, with mom away, I have to rush home after work everyday (except Wednesday, cause of Street Jam class) to cook dinner for dad and myself. Then twice a week, I have to do the laundry. And I’ve been putting off sweeping and mopping ^^”’ So, to go for rehearsals to rush for the performance on April 1st is out of the question, it’s more than I can handle haha. Forget it, it’s just gonna burn me out unnecessarily.

On another random note. Sometimes it’s frustrating being a female. In the sense that, females are naturally emotional, and sometimes those mood swings get a little hard to control despite having the realisation that you’re emo-ing. No matter how you try to put on a mask, somehow it just hints that something is wrong haha. Like even if you keep telling yourself, “I’m fine, nothing’s wrong, everything’s ok”, but in the end you still end up crying your eyes out and you wonder what the hell is wrong with you XD I want a “nothing box”! Can I somehow simplify my brain and “cut” away some of those “connecting wires” so that my thoughts won’t be so damn complicated? :P because of this, I feel that women are the stronger sex! x)

Awesome talents from the Hub!

Posted by Jules on November 17, 2009

Talenthub’s Anniversary Party was last weekend! The one event that we’ve all been waiting for for weeks and weeks is finally over hehe. It was amazing, kudos to the fabulous Miss Fiona-Jane Gomez! I think all the students performed well too :D The only friends I spotted was Ika and John. Mei Fong was there too but I couldn’t find her. Thanks for coming, guys!

I’m thankful for the rehearsal on location in the morning. Cause I found out that I need to change my position for the last piece of street jam. I landed my ass on the pole’s podium during the back roll, ouuuuch >.< Overall I’m happy with our performances! Both jazz and street jam. I didn’t screw up like I did at the halloween performance at Segi :D wheee! I like Zouk as the location. Mainly because the air conditioning was cold enough that I didn’t sweat a lot like I usually do lol. Also the lighting effects were from the ceiling and over our heads, instead of from the floor and into our faces like Segi. And there was no smoke. It’s more comfortable to perform here :D

After the event, we left the place and went back to the room we rented at Pacific Regency. Showered, had pizza delivered for dinner, then got ready and out to Zouk again to paaaarty at Velvet! The peeps were having sort of an early birthday celebration for me :D It was fun, my first clubbing outing with the dancemates. Thanks guys, love u all! Muuuuahhh~!

I want to see more photos and videos of the performances! I don’t have many photos, and my videos kept focusing on me. Apa la you, John :P Oh well lol. Life’s back to normal now. I can finally focus on healing the bruises on my knees XD

Quick announcement!

Posted by Jules on November 11, 2009

Ok, no big deal. It’s only Tuesday night, but I just wanna announce to everyone to DND* me for the rest of this week! Why? I’ll tell you why.

Wednesday : After work, rehearsal til 8pm. Then dindin with Ika, before heading back to the studio for class at 9pm. Til late.

Thursday : Rehearsal at 7pm. Plus dinner, who knows what time I’ll reach home. If it’s not too late, then I gotta work on our hiphop “uniforms”. Some of it, at least.

Friday : After work at home, continue working on the shirts. They MUST be done on Friday. Must! Then pack everything for Saturday. Damn, it’ll be a lot of stuff to pack… 3 event outfits, makeup, shoes…

Saturday : OMG! The big day! On leave from work (again), to attend on-location rehearsals at 10am. Then quick lunch and get ready for the performances. Showtime! Then the plan is to rent a room somewhere for us Street Jammers to crash, dinner, then to Zouk again for clubbing. Not sure about this yet, but one way or another, I won’t be available anyway lol.

Sunday : As usual, Sundays are my days to spend with my Honey :P Probably just gonna relax on this day with him, resting from my super exciting week.

I may still be unavailable for the following week(ends), becaaaaaause my birthday is next week! Should I woohoo or ohcrap? :P I think I opt for a WOOHOO lol. Then again, I feel a little indifferent about going through another birthday. Maybe it’s the age. The excitement for it dies down a little year after year. Teenage years, the age to look forward to is 17. Yippee, I can drive now! Then between teen years and adult years, the age to look forward to is 21. Woot, I’m officially legal! After 21? Pffft, you wish you could just stop right there, doncha lol. Oh well. Birthdays are good :)

*Note: DND = Do Not Disturb.
For people who might not know. Like Gor :P Love ya anyway, Gor hehe.

Fragile me

Posted by Jules on November 9, 2009

OMG the performance is this Saturday! Counting down, 5 days! Aaahhhh exciteddd!!! XDDD

Last Saturday was full dressed rehearsal at the studio. Got me thinking, if I were to learn another dance, what would it be? I’ve tried line dancing and that was boring as heck. Social dancing totally not exactly my thing. I’ll probably get bored in belly dancing as well.

I used to consider pole dancing couple of years back. But right now, I don’t think I’m cut out for pole. The other day we were just fooling around and trying some pole stints. All I did was just point my feet in tiptoe, and I got a freaking cramp in my left calf =_= Why la I always get cramps in my calf… See, simple thing also I get cramp already, how can I go up to pole and hold myself? XD Also, either my arms are weak, or I’m too heavy. Cause I couldn’t lift myself and climb up the pole haha! Loser :P

Jazz? It’s aggresive enough to my liking, but I don’t think I can. Or rather, I don’t think my body can take it lol. The past month of rehearsing the jazz performance, the bruises on my knees gets worse. Overlapping with more bruises before they can even recover. Never mind that I can’t wear shorts, that’s the least of my problems. My problem now is that my knees kind of hurt a little, like when I walk up the stairs. Like some freaking old person. Ugh, my knees are sooo busted >.< So, after this performance, hopefully no more jazz for me!

Why am I so fragile? ^^”’ Now I’m thinking thrice about trying for breakdancing lol.

What a week!

Posted by Jules on August 9, 2009

OMG, I’m so tired. It’s a Sunday and I was at the office the whole day today. Not exactly to work, but to help out with some stock problem. So yeah, I was unpicking the bottom hem of 4 cartons of ladies tops. Gah… It was not difficult because interlock stitches are easy to remove, but damn it was tedious like hell. Got back pain from sitting for so long >.<

Rays came over to have dinner with me ^^ Though tired, I was happy to be able to spend a little bit of time with him. We didn’t get much time together this weekend at all. Only could squeeze in a bit of dinner time… Sigh! Office is my second home. I actually spend more time in the office with my colleagues than I do at home or outside with boyfriend, family and besties! Especially lately. Crap…

Will I get to rest a little bit this coming week? I kinda doubt it. Especially since it’s my “last” week at work before my long holiday. Melbourne, yippee! I’m skipping street jam classes for the whole month, cause I’ll be away for 2 weeks soon, and I was sick last week, so might as well. However I’m upset for missing last week’s class cause they did “Shake” by Yin Yang Twins. OMG I love that song!!! I saw the video of the class and it was AWESOME! Grrr must must watch the video a million times and learn it!

Jai-Ho!

Posted by Jules on July 9, 2009

Nooo I did not just watch Slumdog Millionaire… :P

So went to street jam class today as usual. Our instructor Vivian walked in barefoot when we usually dance in sneakers or whatever shoes like that. In my mind, I was like, “ooookay… what’s going on?”. We did our usual warm up and all, and one round of last week’s 50cent hiphop choreography. Then she told us, “Take off your shoes!”. I’m like, haaaaahhhh?!

Yup! The song was Jai-Ho and we were dancing to some indian type of moves haha. Bollywood mania! XD omg that was some good shit workout for the thighs, wei! And super fast, my legs felt like they were gonna cramp up halfway through :P And blisters on my soles haha. Fun as heck, though I still mess it up here and there… A liiittle confusing towards the end. Practise practise practise!
